The whole western and middle basin of Lake Balaton can be viewed from the four-story wooden lookout tower built on the remains of a motte from the age of Árpád, located on the top of Várhegy (231 m). Visitors can learn about the history, flora and fauna of the region from the signs placed on the nature trail winding through the forest surrounding the lookout tower. The lookout tower can be accessed by disabled people on an uninhibited footpath or by car.
At the turn of the 20th century, most of the village of Buzsák consisted of small,1 room, kitchen and pantry thatched houses. By today only one adobe house built in the 19th century commemorates this type of house. This adobe house used to accommodate a wealthy peasant family, but now it serves its guests as a country house. We can take delight in the products of the local folk-art and crafts. The yard of the country house regularly gives venue to village events.
Lake Balaton can be viewed in its full length from the repeater building situated on the highest point of Sipos hill. Visitors can reach the lookout house from József street, or on forest roads.
We can choose from the various products of domestic merchants on 3 hectares every Wednesday and Saturday in Fonyód's center.
The round bastion surrounded by stone columns found along József street, built by minister Lajos Walkó in 1916 provides a wonderful view on the northern coast of Lake Balaton.
Both sides of the walkway located on the edge of the high bank, starting from behind the museum building provides shows something special: looking in one direction the passers can enjoy the panorama, looking in the other direction they can see the row of villas.
The longest pier in Lake Balaton (464 m) was built in 1898 opposite to Gulács hill. The pier and the park alongside is ideal for recreation. You can find an act sculpture from István Kiss on the coast.
Permanent and seasonal exhibits await visitors in museum accommodating the intellectual and material heritage, natural history and local history collection of the region.

Palánkvár a.k.a. Fácános castle is fortress built by the peasants from natural building materials they found in the area in the middle ages. On this swampy land it heroically endured the siege of the Turkish forces for decades, who destroyed the fortress after capturing it.
In the 20th century the planks and the wooden watch towers were rebuilt, however the foundation stones of the medieval church and the remains of the original ditch are preserved. The Palánkvár gives home to the castle games held annually in Fonyód.
The white walled, thatched press house built in the 19th century was once frequented the local vineyard caretakers and harvesters.
